Vision Statement

Mindfulness is the energy that helps us to be truly present. When you are truly present, you are more in control of situations, you have more love, patience, understanding, and compassion. That strengthens and improves your quality of being. It can be very healing to touch your true nature of no-self. – Thich Nhat Hanh

NOTE: We are no longer operating as a non-profit, however, we ARE still operating as a volunteer group.

Proactively supporting people and organizations who provide mindful approaches to raising the consciousness of the planet is what we do.

When we look at the world there is so much that seems upside down. The sunscreen that is supposed to protect is us is hurting us; food that is clean and healthy is cost prohibitive; and a medical system that is supposed to heal us is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. On some level we need to Wake Up!

Vision Statement
Empowering people with tools and training  that increase awareness and reduce stress (nutritional training, yoga, meditation, etc.)  is exponentially beneficial as it engenders a positive feedback loop of greater and greater awareness thus breeding what is known as Right View.

Right View
Right View can also be translated as “right perspective”, “right outlook” or “right understanding “. It is the right way of looking at life, nature, and the world as they really are. It is to understand how reality works. It acts as the reasoning for someone to start practicing the path. It explains the reasons for human existence, suffering, sickness, aging, death, the existence of greed, hatred, and delusion. It gives direction and efficacy to the other seven path factors. Right view begins with concepts and propositional knowledge, but through the practice of right concentration, it gradually becomes transmuted into wisdom, which can eradicate the fetters of the mind.

Guiding Principles

  • Mindful spending: we keep our overhead low by working virtually and wearing many hats so that the financial support makes it into the hands of the people who need it most.
  • Think globally. Act locally: we believe in taking care of the tribe and supporting our neighborhoods so most of our funding goes to people in Southern CT.
  • Commitment to Self-less Service: in the Hindu tradition one of the six major branches of yoga is Karma Yoga. Karma Yoga, also known self-less service, is not considered work as much as a joyful expression of gratitude, compassionate action, and even as a path towards union with the Divine. We like matching people up with karma yoga opportunities and we love rolling up our sleeves, too.
